Portrait Residential - Hope Valley, Peak District (TAKEN PLACE)

Wow! what a week, we had a great time here in Hope Valley. The accommodation suited us perfectly with plenty of space to work and just outside the lovely village of Hathersage, so easy to walk to if we wanted.

Everyone did so well, developing their skills and confidence throughout the week, and the table football tournament on the Wednesday evening was one to be remembered! I have to say though, they make much better artists than they do footballers…more practice needed I think…

Some new faces this time and some familiar ones too, but everyone really enjoyed sharing their love of art and new friendships were made again.

I think this might be a venue we return to, click below to see a short video of our time together…

Residential details: 3 days of art tuition helping you improve your portraiture skills.

Suitable for all levels of ability…from those just beginning, helping you to break down the features of the face into more manageable pieces so you can understand their structure more easily

….for those wishing to take portraits from a drawing stage into a painting, you can learn about paint application, creating layers to build contrast and tone and how glazing works to enhance or subdue colour

…and finally for those looking to push their portraiture skills further we will look at creative ways to bring colour and interest to portraits, developing a freedom of play to express ideas and have fun.

We have 4 nights accommodation, all rooms ensuite. Fully catered with a buffet style breakfast and lunch, refreshments throughout each day and a two course meal with wine in the evenings.

£480pp in a twin room £580 in a single room

(non-painting partners / friends are welcome at a reduced rate)
