The focus for this retreat was centred on “Sketchbooks & the Landscape’. Looking at how we use sketchbooks and how we can develop them in new ways, making them a more exciting & useful resource for our art.
Staying in the beautiful Peak District village of Cromford, within walking distance of Cromford Mill and Cromford Wharf. We had so much inspiration, history and scenes for sketching right on our doorstep.
Once again the weather was kind to us as the photos below show, and we finished our week together with a lunch in the local pub followed by an art demonstration by yours truly when we returned to the Malthouse.
I decided it would be quite a nice idea to pop everyones name in a hat at the end of the day, so that someone could win the painting and take it home with them. On this occasion, a lovely lady called Audrey was the lucky winner.
Price included 3 days tuition, 4 nights accommodation in a converted mill. Fully catered with a buffet style breakfast and lunch, refreshments throughout the day and a 2 course meal with wine in the evening.
