We spent a wonderful week on the Welsh coast staying in a fabulous private house overlooking Cardigan Bay, near Harlech.
Visits out to local beaches and the imposing Harlech Castle gave us so much inspiration, lots of photos taken and sketching done. It felt so good to get away from the busy-ness of every day life and breathe the sea air.
With no distractions we were able to focus on our art practice, and even when the weather was a little against us, we still had the magnificent views from the house to work from. Plenty of space for everyone to either work alongside each other, sharing ideas and techniques, or to take some quiet time to reflect and absorb what we’d experienced earlier in the day.
Enjoy the video below which captures just a few of the moments we shared…

“It’s been a lovely ‘pause to paint’, the balance of talks, demonstrations and time to work alone was absolutely right. Thank you for introducing me to new materials and would love to come again”
“I genuinely believe that the Art Retreat fires you up to new ways of observing and recording, and in doing so leads to new art adventures. Jo encourages innovation and I would definitely recommend”
“Fabulous accommodation, food and expert tuition from a talented artist and natural, warm host. A very insightful time, I will go home with added confidence to ‘let myself go’ and keep exploring my art.”
